Daydream: you’re worth it!

8 Jan

How many times a day, do you daydream? Yes, I’m talking about these waking dreams, you know very well: when you’re at a traffic jam, waiting for the bus, walking, ironing or mending some stuff at home… these times when your mind escapes from your control, when your body is relaxed. Your thoughts come and go as if they were independent from you: you’re at peace, you’re just dreaming awake. You feel fine, lightly off yourself. It’s so good that you could stay in this mood for a very long time. But your duty or occupation is coming back in mind, so your daydream vanishes.

During a short time you were elsewhere, however. Can you remember what your daydream was about? Because there is a chance you’d just dreamt about something you’d like to come over!

Creative people perfectly know about waking dreams. They spend many times a day doing it. Lots of their creations come from these times while they have let their mind wander. So they use their daydreams as some ways to create new things. Their mind need to meditate, to be quiet, or to be busy with something peaceful like cooking, drawing, watching a sunset, walking, gardening, etc. They know how to draw inspiration from their daydreams, to be more creative.

Everybody can do the same, even they think they’re not a creative. It’s good for the health, for the mind. It helps in many ways to reach a purpose, to go ahead, to figure out any issue. In one word: you’re worth it!

First, you have to notice the times when you’re supposed to dream awake: during your day, when you’re busy with something peaceful, or at least something that doesn’t require a lot of movements, nor any cognitive reactions from you. Remember these times after a working day, before sleeping: in which way did they happen, so what did you think about after?

Secondly, you could ask yourself what kind of daydreams come over; I mean: what they are about? It can give you a tip for something urgent, or very important to do; it can be also about the future, something you don’t dare to talk about. Some of your waking dreams express buried hopes, better than you could do. This is the reason why daydreams are important in life: they open your mind and show you how to come back on your path.

You waste so much time during a day, a week, a month, a year, with insignificant things, that being careful about your daydreams can be a source of joy and happiness. Your purposes in life are due to a lot of your waking dreams: the person you love, you probably dreamt of when you were young; it can be the same with your kids, your job, your home, etc. Almost all in your life has been created by some of your awake dreams in the past.

When you escape from your own control, you let the Universe come into your life. Dreaming awake can bring you a fresh breath when something hurts you. It doesn’t mean you’re not here and now, but it’s just a help to be reconnected with your inner power, your strength. Sometimes, you need to feel who you are, but also what kind of person you’d like to become if ever you’d decide to change.

Dreaming awake isn’t a sin, so please don’t think you’re special, weird or dumb! You’re a beautiful person, looking for the best. That’s all!

Keep dreaming awake!

Love,

Jane
