Is kindness a new brand? I mean being simply kind and fair play with people around us gives you a beautiful identity: at work, with family or friends, you can be told as someone kind. For sure, it sounds so special, so far from your dairy life, that some can be surprised and or are upset by such a revelation. I can hear you thinking: “Who’s kind nowadays?” After more than two decades spent to struggle for everything from the nursery school to Uni, so still now, whatever you do, it’s time to lay down the arms: kindness is the new chic!
However kindness is often seen as a failure, a weakness, a default of a pale character… and overall as a manipulation: being kind is to make others do what we want from them. Descartes wrote that the human being is born as a bad one, and he must grow up learning and practicing kindness. But in this way, a human has to be aware enough to change his mind for the better. Many times later, other theories have brought a revolution and knock out this theory of Descartes, especially Rousseau for whom the human being is born as a good one, and had to stay good!
Our era, strangely over connected with the whole world, is an enigma to most of the people who think that our good old Earth and its living beings need more kindness than ever: why does it seem so hard to plant seeds of love? What’s the aim to be reached with no love? Chaos, destruction, suffering, pain? Why? That sounds so crazy, so stupid, you just can’t stand any reason not to give up to carry on war. Love is the most powerful and beautiful thing all over the world, isn’t it? So each of us can do something in that way: being kind is just the first step to try to change everything for the better.
You waste a precious time and a lot of energy not to try to be kind when it is possible. You all could dare to do a simple exercise: each single day you live right now, be kind once at least. Wait for nothing. Just feel. Breathe love. Consider this play as an experience. So after a while, be sure your vision of the world will be changed forever, the inner vision of yourself as well; because kindness will have shown you the best version of yourself and people around you!
Love,
Jane
